Malaysians are often celebrated for their kindness, and one woman from China recently experienced it firsthand through a touching encounter with a Grab driver.
Sharing her story on Xiaohongshu, the woman detailed how the driver went out of her way to assist her in navigating an unfamiliar country.
Wait around to ensure her safety
She explained that it was her first time using Grab in Malaysia, as she had arranged to meet an agent who would help her search for a place to stay.
They arrived earlier than scheduled, and instead of leaving, she insisted on waiting with her to ensure her safety.
“Don’t worry, I’ve already concluded our trip, and I won’t charge you any money. Once your agent arrives, I’ll leave,” the driver assured her, emphasizing that there would be no hidden fees.
When they later realized they were at the wrong location, the driver went a step further by driving her around to find the correct meeting point with the agent.
“Malaysia has kind people”
Speaking to WeirdKaya, the woman expressed her gratitude, saying, “I think Malaysia is a country full of kindness.”
She added that her Malaysian friend has always been friendly and helpful, reinforcing her positive perception of the country.
The woman shared that she was visiting Malaysia to reunite with her family, whose child attends an international school in the country.
“I also had some rather impolite encounters here, but I think that happens in every country. We can’t expect everything to be perfect.” she reply when asked about her overall experience.
