Bus Overturns At KL-Karak Highway, Leaves 2 Dead & 14 Injured

Early this morning, a tragic incident unfolded on the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Highway near Bentong at Kilometer 51.4, close to the Lentang Rest Area.

An express bus, believed to have veered off the road before overturning, resulted in a dire outcome.

According to Buletin TV3, among the 16 passengers aboard, including the driver and four foreign nationals, two were killed, and 14 sustained injuries in the accident.

The Pahang Fire and Rescue Department, promptly informed of the calamity, deployed 18 personnel from Bentong to the scene.

The report came in at 7:53 am, detailing the harrowing situation of a tourist bus overturned near a bend, blocking the highway.

Public Relations Officer Zulfadli Zakaria of the Pahang Fire and Rescue Department conveyed the preliminary findings.

The operation commander on site reported a critical scenario involving 16 victims, including the foreign nationals, with one individual trapped within the wreckage.

The rescue team swiftly employed specialized equipment to free the trapped victim.

The bodies of the deceased were handed over to the police for further action, while the injured were transported to Bentong Hospital for medical attention.

This devastating event has significantly impacted the flow of traffic on the highway towards the east coast, with severe delays ensuing from the accident site.
