In the clip titled ‘The World Needs A Prime Minister Like Malaysia’, Pat was full of praise for Anwar, particularly for his stance on the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict.

Anwar gave one of his career defining and fiery speeches. He explained and fought against the injustice and the inhumanity that’s currently happening in the Middle East.

“He declared to fight corruption. He declared he wanted to put Malaysian people first and to set aside political difference and unite Malaysia as a country,” he said.

Pat then compared Anwar to Britain’s prime minister Rishi Sunak, whom he said didn’t put the British people first nor had a firm stance on the Israel-Palestine conflict like Malaysia.

He then concludes the video by saying that the world “could really use someone like (Anwar)” who’s willing to stand up for the oppressed.

Diving through Pat’s perspective

In a conversation with WeirdKaya, Pat explained that he has taken some interest in Malaysian politics after visiting Malaysia several time for the past few years.

We first came to Malaysia in 2019 and got stuck here when we returned in 2020 during Covid, where we lived in KL for a few months during that period.

“I’m now visit Malaysia quite regularly as me and Giulia are travelling across every state in the country,” he said.

Moreover, Pat also happens to be a huge fan of Malaysia’s diversity as displayed through its food, culture, and various races living together peaceably.

“Having been in and travelled across Malaysia for a few years, I think the world could learn a lot from this country.

Malaysia really tries to unite the people underneath the Malaysian flag and it’s great to witness. In the UK, we really struggle to do that. People don’t feel British and the British don’t feel patriotic about Britain so why should anyone else?

“However, I’m also aware that Malaysia isn’t completely perfect and as a country so diverse, it definitely has its own challenges Yet, uniting people of so many races and religions is no easy task and that’s the beauty of Malaysia,” he said.

Pat said he can see Anwar’s efforts in putting the people first and added he was a prime example of how democracy should be.

“I genuinely believe the world needs more leaders like Anwar. He’s a compassionate individual who deeply cares about the Malaysian people, strives to enhance their welfare, and works tirelessly to elevate Malaysia’s presence on the global stage.”
