Kuala Lumpur traffic enforcement chief Sarifudin Mohd Salleh said police immediately tracked down the driver following the video’s release and located the vehicle at 5 pm on Saturday (Jan 22).
“The driver, a 49-year-old local woman, was later issued a summon for not abiding by the traffic signs,” he told Free Malaysia Today.
He also reminded the public to not engage in such reckless behaviour that may pose a risk to other motorists.
“Motorcycle lanes are strictly for motorcycles only. Cars are not allowed to use it. Such actions endanger other road users and can lead to accidents.”
The woman’s inconsiderate act was also heavily criticised by netizens, who slammed her for being selfish.

Some said that she lost RM300 just to save RM2.50 on toll fees.

However, some defended the woman, saying that she might have been short on cash or was having a bad day.

Regardless of how your day has gone, always follow the traffic rules and keep everyone safe on the road!
