Warehouse Of M’sian Coffee Brand Aik Cheong Destroyed 90% By Fire In Melaka

No casualties were reported.
If you’re an avid coffee drinker, you’d probably heard of the local brand named Aik Cheong, where it’s widely known for its wide range of coffee and non-coffee beverages.

Unfortunately, one of its warehouses in Melaka recently caught fire, leaving the once massive building into a burning heap of ashes and ruins.

Aik Cheong warehouse catches fire in Melaka

MalaysiaGazette reported that the fire took place at Aik Cheong’s warehouse located at Taman Teknologi Cheng, Melaka, last night (Nov 26).

Zone 1 Officer of the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) in Melaka Zulkhairani Ramli said they received an emergency call at 9.59pm through the MERS 999 hotline.

A team of 23 officers and personnel, along with four vehicles and two Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) units, quickly rushed to the scene.

“Upon our arrival at the location, we found that the warehouse owned by Aik Cheong Beverage Industries Sdn. Bhd., which covered an area of 7,200 square meters, was 90% destroyed by the fire.

“The fire was successfully brought under control at 11.05pm but firefighting operations continued on until 10.05am today,” he said.

Zulkhairani added that no casualties were reported as a result of the blaze and the forensic team is currently working to uncover the cause of the fire.

We’re glad to hear that no one was hurt in the incident and we hope the authorities will be able to determine what sparked the fire.
