It was a teary affair for His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, and Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, Queen of Malaysia, when they paid their late son’s grave a visit yesterday (July 5) at the Mahmoodiah Royal Mausoleum in Johor.
In photos shared on his official Facebook page to share the matter, Sultan Ibrahim and Raja Zarith Sofiah were seen performing prayers for the late Tunku Laksamana Johor Tunku Abdul Jalil.

While performing prayers, Sultan Ibrahim was seen wiping the tears from his eyes as he was overcome with emotion.

Also present alongside their Majesties was Tunku Panglima Johor Tunku Abdul Rahman Al-Haj Ibni Sultan Ibrahim.
Passed away from liver cancer
According to The Straits Times (ST), the late Tunku Abdul Jalil had a lengthy battle with stage four liver cancer, which led him to have a liver transplant at the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University in Guangdong, China, on Dec 10, 2014.
While he received treatment for his illness, Sultan Ibrahim set up the Tunku Laksamana Johor Cancer Foundation to help provide financial aid and treatment for cancer patients.

Sadly, Tunku Abdul Jalil passed away at the royal ward of Sultanah Aminah Hospital on Dec 5, 2015 at the age of 25.
Despite the tragedy, Tunku Abdul Jalil’s legacy continues to live on in the form of the Royal Malaysian Navy’s (RMN) first Littoral Mission Ship Batch 2 (LMSB2) being named after him, as he was the first member of the Johor royal family in modern history to hold the title of Laksamana (Admiral).
