Many people use social media to find love, but some scammers take advantage of this by pretending to be in a romantic relationship and tricking others into giving them money.

As being said, recently a 74-year-old retired Malaysian teacher fell victim to a ‘love scam’ syndicate, losing a staggering RM225,000. The scammer had cunningly posed as the renowned Korean Actor Lee Min-ho.

According to Daud, the suspect initiated the scam in October by persuading the victim to provide financial assistance, citing a fictitious court case.

The victim, sympathizing with the predicament allegedly faced by the imposter claiming to be her idol, Lee Min-ho, transferred a total of RM225,000 to a designated account over a span of two months.

Daud explained, “The suspect informed the victim that he needed a large amount of money to escape the case.”

Unfortunately, the retired teacher only realized she had been deceived after completing the transfers.
