A Malaysian senior citizen was tragically found strangled to death in his Kedah residence.
Yesterday (Oct 1), a 71-year-old Malaysian elderly man was discovered with his hands and legs tied, with signs of strangulation, in his Taman Desa Bidara residence in Kuala Ketil.

As reported by NST, the Baling district police chief, Superintendent Shamsudin Mamat, stated that the police received a call from the public regarding the unconscious elderly individual found at the scene.
He said that during the initial investigations that were conducted at the single-story terrace house, there were no indications of forced entry.
“The victim was found on the bed in the master bedroom. The house does not have Closed Circuit Television Cameras (CCTVs).
Two individuals have been caught on CCTV
In a statement, Shamsudin mentioned “CCTV footage from a neighbor’s house reveals two unidentified male suspects riding a dark-colored Yamaha Y15 motorbike, who are believed to have fled the victim’s house.”
He further said that the deceased had been living alone in the house for approximately eight years following the passing of his wife.
Also, he revealed that some of the victim’s belongings, including a gold chain, a ring, and a pocketbook, were missing.
“The victim’s remains have been sent to Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah in Alor Star for post-mortem to determine the cause of death,” he said.
Police have arrested the two suspects
According to Hmetro, the police have now arrested two men to assist in the investigation.
Shamsudin Mamat said that two individuals, aged 23 and 25, were arrested around 3am this morning (Oct 2), in the vicinity of Kuala Ketil.
He added that an application for a remand order against both suspects will be made today at the Sik Magistrate’s Court to enable further investigations.
The case is now being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
