A 69-year-old man was killed in a violent home invasion robbery in Teluk Intan, Perak, early this morning.
According to Sin Chew Daily, incident was discovered at about 6.38am after police received a call from a man who reported that his neighbour’s house had been broken into and that someone was injured.
Victim found with fatal slash wounds
Police rushed to a house in the Teluk Intan New Town area, where they found the victim, identified as 69-year-old Indian man Jaya Gopal, lying lifeless inside the home.
Initial investigations revealed that he had sustained multiple slash wounds and is believed to have been attacked with a parang during the robbery.
He was living in the house with his wife at the time of the incident.

Three masked suspects broke in through front door
Authorities believe three suspects, all men in their 20s, forced their way into the house through the front door.
The suspects were reportedly masked and armed with a long parang. Due to their face coverings, police are currently relying on the suspects’ spoken accents to aid in identifying them.
The victim’s wife was present during the incident but was left severely traumatised. Police said she is currently unable to provide a detailed statement due to shock.
The suspects managed to escape after the attack, taking with them three gold necklaces. The total value of the stolen items has yet to be determined.

Police launch murder investigation
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
Police have also called in the forensic unit and K9 unit from the Perak police headquarters to assist with evidence collection. A forensic pathologist has conducted a preliminary examination at the scene.
Authorities are currently reviewing nearby CCTV footage in an effort to track down the suspects. Investigations are ongoing.
