A 60-year-old e-hailing driver was left injured after a group of passengers attacked him during the ride.
His son later took to social media to recount what had happened and urged the authorities to take stern action against the perpetrators.
Told passengers to fasten seatbelts
In a Facebook post, the OP, Kelvin Goh, wrote that the assault took place in the Seri Yaacob industrial area of Skudai, Johor Bahru on Wednesday night (June 10) when his father was giving three Myanmar nationals a ride.
He also alleged that the trio were drunk at the time.

When Kelvin’s dad told the trio to fasten their seatbelts, they refused to do so and proceeded to argue with him.
Things then took an ugly turn when the trio turned on Kelvin’s dad and began assaulting him, with dashcam footage showing one of them holding the older man in a headlock while the others beat him.

Kelvin added that aside from facial injuries, his father also lost a tooth, which fell into a drain following the assault.
One of the photos attached with the post also showed several bloodstains near the driver’s seat.

‘What gives you the right to hurt others?’
Kelvin added a police report has since been lodged over the assault and slammed the passengers for beating his father.
If you’re unhappy with the ride, you can just alight from the car or cancel the trip. What gives you the right to beat someone up like this?
“Do you think just because you’re foreigners, you don’t need to respect the laws of Malaysia and can do whatever you please?” he fumed.

Kelvin added that he shared about the incident to warn e-hailing drivers and urge them to install dashcams in their vehicles.
He also called upon the authorities to take stern action against the trio for hurting his father.
