In a tragic turn of events, a man lost his life after being stabbed by his own cousin during a dispute over noise levels.
The incident occurred when the victim, a 55-year-old man, told his 27-year-old cousin to be quiet, leading to a struggle that ultimately resulted in the victim being stabbed in the chest with a pair of scissors.
According to Kosmo!, the Padawan District Police Chief, Superintendent Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md. Radzi, confirmed receiving a distressing report around 8.30pm yesterday (May 3).
Law enforcement quickly sent officers from the District Criminal Investigation Division and the Special Investigation Division (D9) of the Sarawak Criminal Investigation Department to respond to the incident unfolding at Jalan Haji Baki, Kuching, Sarawak.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers found the victim lying with injuries and was pronounced dead by medical personnel.
Superintendent Mohd Irwan Hafiz provided details that the confrontation stemmed from the victim’s request for the suspect to make less noise, which escalated into a physical altercation and the tragic stabbing.
The suspect was apprehended near the scene and has been remanded until June 10 for further investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which pertains to murder.
