A 51-year-old policeman with the rank of sergeant was found dead with gunshot wounds to the neck, chest and head behind the Bayan Lepas Police Station, Penang on Sunday (19 Feb).

Barat Daya District Police Chief, Superintendent Kamarul Rizal Jenal confirmed the case and added that the body of the policeman who was on duty at the station was found at around 3.30 pm.

He said, as a result of the examination, several gunshot wounds were found on the neck, chest and head.

“A pistol was also found on the victim’s side. The case is still being investigated.”
“The police advise the public not to spread any speculation regarding the case,” he said.
