It has always been emphasized that riding on roads requires utmost caution.
Recently, a 48-year-old Malaysian man fractured his left leg after his motorcycle collided with a cow on Jalan Ayer Pak Abas towards Masjid Tanah Alor Gajah Melaka on February 28.
According to Polis Alor Gajah Facebook post, the victim, also an Auxiliary Police Officer, was riding a Yamaha Novo motorcycle heading towards Masjid Tanah Alor Gajah Melaka.
Suddenly, a cow crossed the road, causing his motorcycle to crash into it. After the unexpected accident, the cow fled into the nearby forest.
As a result of the accident, the victim suffered a fractured left leg. Fortunately, two members of the Motorcycle Patrol Unit (URB) 14 BPJKK IPD Alor Gajah, L/Cpl Mohd Faizzudin and L/Cpl Mohamad Noor, arrived at the scene promptly.
They provided initial assistance to the victim and controlled traffic to prevent any adverse incidents until medical personnel and ambulances arrived.
Victim sent to hospital
The victim, who suffered a fractured left leg because of this unexpected accident, was promptly transported to Alor Gajah Hospital via a JPAM Ambulance for further medical assistance.
Police urge public caution
Additionally, the police advised exercising caution while traversing village roads, particularly those that are poorly lit, to mitigate the risk of untoward incidents.
