40yo M’sian Warden Arrested For Allegedly Sexually Assaulting 15yo Male Student While Bathing Him

The suspect brought the victim to his home under the pretext of taking care of him.
Teachers and wardens alike serve as guardians in a student’s journey, dedicated to safeguarding and supporting rather than causing harm to those under their care. However, some wardens take the responsibility for granted.

A 40-year-old warden from Sarawak was recently arrested for sexually assaulting a 15-year-old student while bathing him.

“When the suspect was bathing the victim, he was alleged to have touched the victim sexually,” Mancha said.

He said the case is now being investigated in accordance with Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offenses Against Children Act 2017 (Act 792).

If convicted, the suspect can be sentenced to prison for not more than 20 years and be subject to whipping.

Public need to be aware

He also emphasized the importance of the public being more aware and responsive to instances of sexual offenses against children.

“This is because the incident can harm the emotional and mental health of the victim for a long time,” he said.

Mancha mentioned that failing to disclose information regarding sexual offenses against children could result in a fine of up to RM5,000.
