Babies are extremely vulnerable beings and need extra care and attention as letting them out of your sight for just a short while can lead to tragic outcomes.
A baby recently lost its life while drinking milk straight from the bottle, which has prompted police to launch an investigation into it.
4-month-old M’sian baby dies while drinking milk
According to Harian Metro, police were contacted by the Nilai Health Clinic last Saturday (Jan 6) at 9.30am, where they were informed the baby boy was brought to the clinic by a woman from the Nilai Peoples Housing.

In a statement by Nilai district police chief Superintendent Abdul Malik Hasim, he said initial investigations found that the baby was under the woman’s care and was fed some milk at 8.30am before being placed on a mattress.
Not long after, she found that milk was dribbling out from the baby’s mouth. She then picked him up and patted his back before seeking help from a neighbour.
An examination conducted at the Nilai Health Clinic later found that the baby showed no signs of life and was unresponsive,” he said.
Head injuries allegedly the cause of death
Abdul Malik added that following a port-mortem examination carried out at the Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital, it was determined that head injuries was what caused the baby’s death. However, no external injuries were found on the baby’s body.

The case is now being investigated under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001 and the public has been urged not to make speculations that could interfere with investigations.
