A Malaysian man recently sparked discussion online after admitting that even a RM21,000 monthly salary still does not feel like enough.
His anonymous post on X platform @meinmokhtar quickly caught attention as many were surprised by his confession.
Earning RM21k but savings not growing

In his post, the 32 year old shared that he earns around RM15,000 from his main job and an additional RM3,000 from part time work.
After recently receiving a promotion, his total monthly salary increased to RM21,000.
Despite this, he said he still feels financially stuck.
He explained that his car is fully paid off and he only rents a house. Yet his savings do not seem to grow. Confused, he asked netizens for advice on what he should review in his life.
Netizens offer advice & a bit of sarcasm
The post quickly attracted a wave of comments ranging from sincere advice to playful sarcasm.
One netizen suggested that perhaps his income is not blessed and advised him to donate monthly to a B40 university student, feed stray cats, and maintain a good relationship with his parents if they are not toxic.

Another jokingly offered to manage his money for him, telling the man to transfer his salary over so they could return spending money according to his needs.

Gratitude was the common message
Some netizens kept their response straightforward. One comment pointed out that the man may be lacking gratitude, which could be why everything feels insufficient.

While the post started as a personal financial concern, it ended up opening a wider conversation about spending habits, contentment, and how much is truly enough in modern life.
For many Malaysians, earning RM21k a month already sounds like a dream. But as this post shows, financial comfort is not only about income. It is also about mindset.
