NST reported that the victim was a 2-year-old girl who was left inside the car for 8 hours as her mother forgot to drop her off at kindergarten on Wednesday (Nov 8).
In a statement by Petaling Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Fakhruddin Abdul Hamid, he said police were alerted of the incident at 3.40pm, where they were told the victim was found unconscious.
“Based on initial investigations, the victim’s mother, a woman in her 30s, she dropped off her two children at a nearby school.
She then drove to the victim’s kindergarten but stopped for a moment to attend to her online business, which led her to forget dropping her daughter off,” he said.

“Her husband called 999 and gave first aid to the victim until the ambulance and police arrived. Unfortunately, the victim was declared dead while receiving treatment at the Sungai Buloh Hospital.
The case is currently being probed under Section 31(1) of the Child Act 2001 and a post-mortem will be carried out on the victim,” he said.
