27yo M’sian, Who Was Heading To S’pore For Work, Flung From Bridge After Motorcycle Hits Him

He died at the scene.
A 27-year-old man was killed in a road accident that took place at KM1.5 of the North-South Expressway (NSE) in Johor at around 8am yesterday (June 11).

This comes after he got hit by a motorcycle and fell from a bridge, resulting in his demise, reported The Star.

Thrown off bridge in collision

According to Johor Bahru South district police chief Assistant Commissioner Raub Selamat, he said the 27-year-old victim, who worked as a storekeeper in Singapore, was heading towards his workplace.

He added road conditions at the time were wet due to rain and traffic was moving slowly.

While on the way to Singapore, a motorcycle driven by a 27-year-old crashed into the victim, causing him to be thrown off a bridge and onto the Pasir Gudang Highway below.

The victim sustained severe head injuries and a fractured left leg, which led to him succumbing to his wounds at the scene.

As for the other motorcyclist, he broke his left arm and injured his face and right arm. He is currently being treated at Hospital Sultan Ismail.

Police are being investigating the case under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless driving.
