A 25-year-old woman has recently gone viral online after sharing snippets of her daily life with her father, but it was one particular post that got everyone talking.
The woman, who graduated from the Boston University and now works as a programme host in China, often shares lighthearted content on Threads. However, a recent screenshot she posted shocked netizens and quickly went viral.

What started as a simple post quickly blew up after she shared a screenshot showing a bank transfer of approximately RM82,500 (550,000 Chinese yuan) from her father, labelled as her “living allowance”.

The post has since been shared over 10,000 times, with many netizens expressing shock at the amount.
Even the woman herself admitted she didn’t expect such a reaction, joking that her mother later scolded her for posting it.
Not a fixed monthly amount
According to her, her father regularly transfers money to support her living expenses. However, she clarified that the amount is not fixed every month, sometimes it’s higher, sometimes she doesn’t even need that much.
Another detail that caught attention was the transfer account name, which appeared to be a company registered under her name, believed to have been set up by her father.
For many, the “allowance” alone was equivalent to, or even exceeded, what a working adult earn in an entire year.
‘I still enjoy working’
Despite the financial support, she shared that she still enjoys working as a host and finds it fulfilling.
“I would feel bored just staying at home,” she said, adding that her job brings her happiness and purpose beyond money.

Following the viral attention, her mother reportedly advised her to be more mindful about what she shares online.
She warned that such posts could easily be misunderstood as showing off wealth, and might give others the impression that she doesn’t need to work or put in effort — as if money simply “falls from the sky”.
Her mother also encouraged her to share more about her work and personal efforts, rather than just the financial side of her life.
