In a remarkable tale of determination and resilience, the 22-year-old girl has achieved a jaw-dropping weight loss transformation, shedding over half of her body weight in four years.
Nur Dini Nabila Ezam’s story began with the hurtful nickname “giant” given to her by schoolmates due to her large body size.
She told Harian Metro that she weighed a staggering 150 kg at that time, and her life was marred by relentless bullying and teasing, to the point where she lost all enthusiasm for attending school.
She recalls, “I actually kept this as a secret. People who just met me didn’t know how I used to be. Only friends and schoolmates might know.”
“What I went through at school was tough. I was bullied because of my weight, teased until I felt ‘down’ and didn’t want to go to school, and so on. Finding clothes in my size was difficult.”
Dini’s journey to transformation began after she completed her Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM) in 2019, at which point she weighed 150 kg.
At that moment, she made a resolute decision to reclaim her life and health. After her SPM, Dini took a hiatus from social media and embarked on a journey to “glow up.”
She embraced daily exercise as a means of coping with the emotional pain caused by relentless bullying.
Alongside her rigorous workout regimen, she made significant changes to her diet, prioritizing calorie reduction and the avoidance of sugary foods and drinks.
She emphasized, “Apart from exercise, the most cliché thing we hear about losing weight is reducing calories. This is the most important thing.”
“Yes, I eat less but more frequently. Besides that, I don’t consume sugary food and drinks. I haven’t had anything sweet for several years now. My routine is to strictly control my diet.”
Dini’s dedication and commitment paid off, as she managed to shed an astonishing amount of weight. Presently, she weighs a healthy 70 kg, marking a remarkable transformation that has left everyone awe-inspired.
Her message to others facing similar challenges is one of hope and resilience. “I just hope that those who are ‘plus-size’ and cute like me won’t lose hope in this diet process.”
“Show those who like to bully that big bodies can become slim. If people have a habit of teasing and bullying, it’s hard to change. Don’t give up on what we do,” Dini encourages.
From a starting weight of nearly 200 kg, Dini’s triumphant journey serves as a testament to her unwavering determination and her ability to rise above adversity.
