In a shocking turn of events, a 20-year-old college student from Negeri Sembilan has been exposed for filing a false police report of a rape incident in a desperate attempt to hide her unplanned pregnancy from her family.
The revelation came to light when Superintendent Hoo Chang Hook, Jempol District Police Chief, disclosed that the student’s actions were brought into question after inconsistencies were detected in the statement she provided.
College student’s false rape report exposed
According to Hoo, the student claimed to have been raped by an unknown man on January 16 at approximately 6:15 pm at her residence in Kampung Serting Ilir, Bahau.
However, forensic examination by the Negeri Sembilan Police Contingent Headquarters revealed no semen or liquid at the alleged crime scene, casting doubt on the authenticity of the reported incident.
“The suspect was taken to Jempol Hospital for examination, where it was confirmed that she had no injuries. Surprisingly, the doctor’s examination unveiled that the 20-year-old student was five weeks pregnant,” stated Chang Hook.
Student comes clean about false report
Further investigation into the matter uncovered a conversation on the suspect’s phone between her and her boyfriend after the police report was filed, reported Sinar Harian.
Authorities flagged the conversation as suspicious, leading to increased scrutiny.
Hoo explained, “Upon deeper interrogation, the suspect admitted that the police report she filed was entirely untrue and fabricated.
The motive behind the false report was her fear of her family discovering her pregnancy resulting from a relationship with her boyfriend.”
The student, pursuing a diploma in Negeri Sembilan, concocted the false rape story to divert attention from the out-of-wedlock pregnancy, underscoring the societal pressure and fear that can drive individuals to extreme measures.
