Finding a parking spot at KLCC can already be stressful enough, but one recent incident turned into a heated confrontation after two women allegedly refused to move from a parking bay.
Malaysian woman Shezlina recently shared a video on Threads showing her husband confronting the pair inside the KLCC car park.
According to her post, the incident began when a blue Mercedes attempted to enter a parking spot which the two women were allegedly reserving for someone else.
‘They simply wouldn’t budge’
Shezlina claimed that despite being asked to move and allow the Mercedes to use the parking spot, the two women refused.
Her husband later stepped in and asked them to follow the parking rules, but the conversation soon became heated.
During the confrontation, the women also said that they were born in Malaysia and had Malaysian identity cards.
The blue Mercedes eventually drove away without taking the parking spot.
Shezlina later criticised the pair’s behaviour in her post and urged people to respect parking rules.
Netizens question whether Mercedes was going the wrong way
However, after the video circulated online, some netizens noticed another detail.
Several pointed out that the blue Mercedes appeared to be travelling against the direction indicated by an arrow painted on the car park floor.
This led some commenters to question whether the Mercedes was also in the wrong.
Others suggested that the traffic flow inside the KLCC car park could be confusing, with certain sections appearing to have different directions.
Shezlina herself later acknowledged the confusion in the comments.
She explained that her husband had previously driven through the same route as the Mercedes and said the lanes appeared to switch between one way and two way sections.
She also admitted that she could not be completely certain whether the Mercedes had been travelling in the correct direction.
Despite this, Shezlina maintained that the main issue was the two women allegedly reserving the parking spot while waiting for another vehicle.
‘I asked them to follow Malaysia rules’
Speaking to WeirdKaya, Shezlina clarified several details that were not fully shown in the viral video.
She explained that the conversation about the women being Malaysian began after she asked them to follow Malaysian parking rules, as she had initially assumed that they were foreigners.
“They mentioned this because I asked them to follow Malaysia rules since they’re foreigner,” she said.
According to Shezlina, the women then told her that they were born in Malaysia and knew the rules.
She subsequently asked whether they had Malaysian identity cards, to which they replied that they did.
Car they were waiting for allegedly never arrived
Shezlina also told WeirdKaya that the women claimed they were reserving the parking spot because their family member or friend was almost there.
However, she said the vehicle they were waiting for had still not arrived by the time she and her husband left.
“They save the spot and mentioned to us their family or friend almost arrived. But until we leave our parking spot, their friend or family still not arriving yet,” she said.
Shezlina added that no KLCC security personnel or parking attendants intervened during the confrontation.
She was unsure whether an event was taking place at KLCC that day, but recalled that the car park was particularly crowded, with many vehicles entering as they were leaving.
‘We didn’t want to waste our energy’
As for how the confrontation ended, Shezlina said the blue Mercedes eventually gave up and drove away.
She and her husband then decided not to continue arguing with the two women.
“We don’t want to waste our energy to talk to them. We just let them be,” she said.
However, Shezlina claimed that the pair also took photos of her and her husband during the incident.
She further told WeirdKaya that one of the women accused her of recording them simply because she wanted to become famous.
Shezlina said the thought had never crossed her mind.
‘The video doesn’t show the full context’
Addressing the reactions to the viral clip, Shezlina acknowledged that viewers only saw part of what happened.
“I think the main misunderstanding is that the video doesn’t show the full context of what happened,” she told WeirdKaya.
She explained that she was feeling unwell at the time, while her husband works according to US hours, leaving both of them too tired to record the entire encounter or continue arguing.
“I just hope people understand there was more to the situation than what was shown in the viral video,” she said.
While opinions online remain divided over the Mercedes’ direction of travel, Shezlina stressed that from her perspective, the bigger issue was the alleged attempt to physically reserve a parking spot for a vehicle that had yet to arrive.
