The documentary, which presents a detailed account of the 1MDB financial scandal, began airing on January 5 and has since garnered significant attention.

Najib’s defense team, led by Muhammad Shafee Abdullah, appealed to the High Court, claiming the documentary was ‘extremely subjudice and contemptuous’, particularly in light of Najib’s ongoing 1MDB trial.

According to The Straits Times, The defense counsel also expressed intentions to file contempt proceedings against former attorney-general Tommy Thomas and initiate a defamation suit against Sarawak Report editor Clare Rewcastle-Brown, citing their comments in the documentary.
