The phrase ‘Too much time on his/her hands’ is often used to describe individuals who usually have nothing better to do in their spare time and resort to nonsensical or sometimes dangerous activities to pass the time.
This was certainly the case for one bored teenager, who decided that it was a fun idea to purchase a gun (albeit a fake one) and spook those around him before police finally put an end to his antics.

Speaking to China Press about the incident, Wangsa Maju district police chief Superintendent Ashari Abu Samah said a police officer was carrying out his duties on Monday (Oct 2) when he spotted the 19-year-old suspect and intercepted him.
When he noticed that the suspect had a gun with him, the police officer immediately arrested him.
“Initial investigations later found that the suspect had bought the gun from a toy store as he wanted to show off and have some fun with it. We also discovered that he had a criminal record for theft,” he said.
The 19-year-old will remain in custody until tomorrow (Oct 5) and the case is being investigated under Section 36 (1) of the Firearms Act 1960 for possessing an imitation gun, which carries a jail term of up to one year, a fine of up to RM5,000, or both.
