An 18-year-old teenager who was said to be struggling with depression was found dead inside a river in Bahau, Negeri Sembilan on Tuesday (June 16).
According to China Press, the victim was identified as Soh Aik Tian, whose body was found floating in Sungai Muar at around 5pm by a passerby.

Left note for family
Earlier, Jempol District Police Chief is Superintendent Norhisham Mustapar said in a statement that Soh was last seen by his family at around 1.30am on Monday (June 15).
When they woke up at 4.30am, they discovered that Soh had gone missing and began a frantic search for his whereabouts.
Police investigations found that Soh left his mobile phone and personal belongings at home. The only item his family found was a handwritten note placed on the table which read:
Thank you, Dad and Mum. I am leaving home.”

Police also revealed that Soh suffered from depression and had dropped out of school two years ago as he disliked being in crowded environments.
Body found in river
Following the sighting of Soh’s body in the river, police officers and firefighters went to the scene and launched a rescue operation, where the body was retrieved at 7pm.
Soh’s family later confirmed his identify and the body was sent to the hospital mortuary for a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death.
