Many often assume that heart attacks only happen on those who have a family history of it or are of age, but like most diseases, even youths are at risk of suffering a heart attack too.
This was what tragically happened to a Form 5 student at Hulu Dungun, Terengganu, where he was found slumped on the ground at a hostel located at a secondary school.

According to Kosmo, the victim was identified as 17-year-old Mohamad Nazlin Zazwi, who was found in an unconscious state by his classmates at 9.45pm on Tuesday (Mar 12).

Dungun district police chief, Superintendent Maizura Abdul Kadir said that a schoolteacher quickly brought Mohamad Nazlin to a nearby clinic before he was referred to the Dungun Hospital.
“Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead by medical officers and the cause of death was later confirmed to be a heart attack,” he said when contacted by the Malay daily.
Maizura said Mohamad Nazlin’s body was then taken to the hospital’s forensic unit before it was claimed by his family members after the autopsy was completed yesterday afternoon (Mar 13).

“The teenager is said to have been buried at his hometown in Kampung Shukor, Hulu Dungun,” he added.
How to prevent heart attacks?

- Practice a healthy diet (more vegetables & fruits, less on sugary and processed foods)
- Maintain a healthy body weight
- Get enough rest (at least 7 hours for adults)
