In a disturbing incident, a video showing a form three student being beaten by a group while more than ten people watched has gone viral. The altercation took place at the Kemensah Trak Motocross, Taman Melawati, Ampang Jaya, last Monday.
Through four videos shared by an Instagram user, the incident is believed to involve students from a secondary school in Selangor.
The video recording also shows several other students hitting the victim, while some try to stop the fight while some laughing amongst themselves.
Five students have been questioned to assist in the investigation of this bullying case. It is believed that the incident occurred due to a misunderstanding between the victim, who allegedly disrespected a group of senior form five students.
Ampang District Police Chief, Mohamad Farouk Eshak, said that the 15-year-old victim was initially assaulted at his school staircase around 9.30 am.
“He was punched in the left chest, choked, and kicked in the back by a form five male student he recognized,” Farouk shared.
The victim was also threatened to be elbowed in the face if he did not meet at Anjung Selera. Subsequently, five suspects invited the victim to Bukit Mar Mar Kemensah, where he was beaten further.
“One of the suspects also punched the complainant’s face four times,” he added in a statement today.
According to Mohamad Farouk, the incident was witnessed by approximately 10 to 15 students.
The victim sustained injuries to his forehead, a wound on the side of his left eyebrow, pain and swelling in the left jaw, and at the back of his neck.
“The case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code, referring to voluntarily causing hurt,” he said.
