14yo SG boy makes 15yo GF pregnant

According to CNA, the boy, who cannot be named publicly as he was a minor (14 years old) at the time of the incident, had a relationship with his girlfriend who was 15 at the time in 2020, where both engaged in sexual intercourse at his home without protection.

The boy claimed that he couldn’t purchase condoms as it was “difficult” for him to do so due to his age.

Tried abortion pills and punching GF’s stomach

In January 2021, the girl found out she was pregnant and told her boyfriend about it but hid it from her family members.

The couple then agreed to abort the child and resorted to methods which they came across online, such as ingesting abortion pills.

Bizarrely, the girl even allowed her boyfriend to punch her stomach and knee her abdomen in an attempt to abort the child.

Gave birth to stillborn in her bedroom

Despite their efforts, the child wasn’t aborted and the girl went into labour in her bedroom on June 10, 2021.

She then video-called her boyfriend to inform him about it and gave birth to a stillborn boy shortly after midnight on June 11 before cutting the umbilical cord with a pair of scissors.

The boy then instructed her to bury the baby as well as cut up her placenta into tiny pieces and flush it down the toilet.

The girl wrapped the baby in newspapers and placed it inside a cabinet despite her boyfriend’s protests as he felt it was inappropriate and risky.

Two days later, the girl buried the baby in the garden of her home and would sometimes stop by to sit down and grieve over its demise.

Came clean with her mother

After the couple broke up in 2022, the girl’s secret finally came into the open in April 2022 when she confessed about everything to her mother, who noticed her daughter had become exceptionally quiet and asked if she was okay.

Police were later able to retrieve the baby’s remains from the garden where the girl buried it.

‘Wants to move on with his life’

On Dec 13, 2023, the boy, who’s now 18, pleaded guilty to having sex with a minor and instigating the girl to conceal the birth of her child by burying it, where he faces jail time and a fine.

In court, the prosecution said they would not object to the calling of a probation suitability report or a reformative training report.

Under reformative training, offenders are held in a structured environment, like a reformative training centre, for a minimum of six months.

The boy’s lawyers objected and asked the court not to do so as the boy is scheduled to undergo national service in January 2024.

In mitigation, the lawyers said their client was a first-time offender who “committed the offences on the spur of the moment due to his immature age” and was an academically gifted person who came from “a well-structured family”.

They also added that the boy has owned up to his mistakes and “wants to move on with his life”.

The judge then called for a probation suitability report and said he would not consider a reformative training report for now before fixing January 2024 for sentencing.
