14yo M’sian Storms Out Of Home After Dad Refused To Let Him Ride Motorbike To School

He returned home 5 days later.
Angry that his father wouldn’t give in to his request of taking a motorcycle to school, a Form 2 student in Ampang left the home in a huff and vanished.

Thankfully, he returned home several days later unhurt, much to his family’s relief.

Upset by dad’s refusal

According to a statement by Ampang Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Khairul Anuar Khalid, he said the father of 14-year-old Yuen Cheng Yang lodged a missing person report on Aug 20 after the teen stormed out of the family home in Kampung Tasik Permai.

In the statement, Yuen was described to be approximately 145cm tall, weighs 45kg, has fair skin and does not wear glasses.

Five days after leaving home, Yuen returned home at around 2am, where he was found to be a safe and uninjured condition by police.

Investigations later revealed that Yuen left home due to a verbal dispute with his father after his request to ride a motorbike to school was denied, reported China Press.

While we’re thankful that Yuen returned home safely, we hope this will remind parents to keep an eye on their children at all times!
