A 13-year-old girl’s life came to a tragic end after she fell out of the window and plunged from the 16th floor in an apparent suicide.
Kosmo! reported that the incident took place at an apartment in Jinjang Utara, Kuala Lumpur yesterday afternoon (Mar 31).
18yo sister tried to save victim
Sentul district police chief Assistant Commissioner Beh Eng Lai said in a statement that the victim was alone at home with her 18-year-old sister.

“Prior to the victim’s death, her sister left the victim who was playing games on the computer to go to the toilet.
“When she came out from the toilet, she saw the victim climbing out of the room’s window and ran towards her to pull her back in but was unable to as the victim had already fallen out,” he said.
Police find suicide-related article
Beh added that the window wasn’t equipped with metal grilles and said the victim is believed to have slipped when climbing out of the window.

He also said police found an article titled ‘How to die in apartment’ inside the victim’s computer. However, her sister stated that the victim was behaving normally and did not show any suicidal tendencies.
Medical personnel from Hospital Kuala Lumpur confirmed the victim’s death at the scene and the body was handed over to the Forensic Unit for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
The case has been classified as sudden death and those with further information are urged to contact the Sentul District Police Headquarters Operations Room at 03-40482206.
