A 12-year-old boy was killed while his 14-year-old friend was injured after the motorcycle they were riding on got trapped between two lorries in Kedah.
The Star reported that the incident took place at Masjid Batu 3, Jalan Jeniang in Gurun at 2pm yesterday (Sept 3).

The victim was identified as Muhammad Ilham Firdaus Mohamad Iruan, a student at a primary school in Pendang.
What happened
According to Kuala Muda district police chief Assistant Commissioner Hanyan Ramlan, he said the accident was triggered by a car which suddenly slammed the brakes when the traffic light turned red.
As a result, a lorry behind the car was forced to brake suddenly, and this led to its rear section to skid and crush the motorcycle Muhammad Ilham and his friend were on.
Muhammad Ilham got stuck near the rear tyre between the two lorries, while his friend, who was riding pillion, was flung onto the road.

Muhammad Ilham sustained severe injuries to his body and both thighs, while his friend was injured on his hands and legs.
His body was later taken to Hospital Sultan Abdul Halim in Sungai Petani for a post-mortem.
Further checks also revealed that neither Muhammad Ilham nor his friend were wearing a helmet and possessed a valid driving licence, reported China Press.
Police are probing the case under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless driving.
