A woman at Vietnam’s Tan Son Nhat International Airport went viral after arguing with airline staff who told her she couldn’t bring her 21kg “carry-on” onboard because, well, that’s basically a checked-in suitcase pretending to be hand luggage.
And as expected, the internet had zero sympathy.
Tried to board with 21kg carry-on
According to a passenger who shared the incident on Threads, the woman got into a heated exchange at the boarding gate when staff informed her that her bag exceeded the weight limit by a massive margin.
Her carry-on reportedly weighed 21kg — just 2kg shy of the checked baggage limit on many airlines.
Despite being told she needed to check it in, she insisted on bringing it onboard.
Spoiler: it did not go well.
“No need to make a scene,” says witness
The witness, wrote:
There’s really no need to make a scene when your carry-on exceeds the weight limit.”
He added that budget airlines are notoriously strict with baggage rules, and the woman was very obviously pushing the boundaries.
Rules are rules, and she was clearly pushing them.”
Clips go viral, travellers roast her immediately
Footage of the confrontation quickly made its rounds online, triggering a wave of commentary from seasoned travellers who have seen one too many airport dramas.
And they did not hold back.
One user joked:
21kg carry-on?? She got gold bars in there?”

Another was stunned:
The max cabin allowance is 10kg. She tried to bring 21kg and still got angry? CRAZY.”

Meanwhile, others pointed out the safety issue:
This lady is out of her mind. Everyone else follows the rules for a reason.”
Despite the woman’s frustration, netizens agreed on one thing — the airline staff were just doing their job, and her attempt to argue her way out of a 21kg problem was never going to work.
