BANGSAR – A viral Facebook dashcam video showing a mainland Chinese woman jumping off a taxi and frantically seeking help has caused an uproar online.
As you can see from the video, the woman jumps off the taxi in a panic, hurriedly flags down passing cars, and eventually enters one behind the taxi.

The woman’s family later revealed that she alighted from the taxi in such a hurry because the driver ignored her repeatedly when she told him about her intended destination. Feeling increasingly frightened, she then asked the driver to let her out, but he locked the door instead, causing her to panic and jump out of the vehicle.

It is believed the incident occurred in front of Dataran Maybank at Jalan Bangsar.
After the incident came to light, China Press reported that the taxi driver mistakenly thought the woman was a drug mule and suspected that she had drugs in her possession.
The taxi driver also added that he wanted to hand her over to the police and lodge an incident report.
He later withdrew the report when investigations revealed that it was a misunderstanding caused by language barriers.
