Navigating pregnancy while travelling can be daunting on its own, but when the baby arrives unexpectedly and at an unfamiliar surroundings, it adds an extra layer of challenge.
A female passenger experienced just that recently after her baby decided that it was time to be born ahead of the due date at KLIA.
Woman gives birth to healthy baby at waiting area of KLIA Terminal 1
In an X post by Malaysia Airports, it shared an unexpected but happy incident that happened a the KLIA 1 terminal.

According to the caption, it mentioned that a flight passenger had delivered her baby inside the waiting area.
Fortunately, the Aviation Security Team (AVSEC) immediately called for medical assistance from the Ministry of Health (MOH) and Medicare Paramedic to handle the situation.
“Following the birth, the mother and her child were sent to the Serdang Hospital for further treatment and monitoring.
“Good job to AVSEC, the Terminal Services Department, KKM, the Medilife Paramedics and others for their swift and efficient action!” wrote Malaysia Airports.
‘He deserves free tickets!’
At the time of writing, the post has amassed more than 300,000 views and 2,000 likes.
In the comment section, netizens congratulated the woman on the smooth birth of her child and joked about whether Malaysia Airports would be giving special perks to the newborn for being born at its premises.
‘Will the baby get free flights for life?’

‘The baby can flex that he/she was born at an airport. Welcome to the world!’

Some even cheekily suggested that the child be named with the words ‘KLIA’ or ‘airport’ in it.
