Human greed is capable of making people do things they probably never imagined doing, including stealing money from relatives.
A woman was recently arrested in Pandan Perdana, Kuala Lumpur, for allegedly stealing RM8,200 from her step-aunt’s bank account to buy an iPhone 14 Pro.

According to Dang Wangi district police chief, Assistant Commissioner Noor Dellhan Yahaya, he told Harian Metro that police received a report about the incident on Mar 25.
He added it eventually led to the arrest of the suspect at 12.25am today.
“Investigations revealed that the money was withdrawn in stages beginning on Mar 23. We also seized an ATM card belonging to the victim as well as the phone purchased with the stolen money,” he said.

The case is currently being investigated under Section 4(1) of the Computer Crime Act 1997.
In a Facebook post uploaded by the suspect’s step-aunt, she wrote that she suspected her ATM card was stolen while she was sleeping at home.
She also expressed disappointment in her step-niece’s actions, saying that her kindness was repaid in such a manner, especially during the first week of Ramadan.
“When I saw that my bank account only had RM500 left, I was shocked and it caused me to be unable to pay all of my monthly commitments, including rent,” she wrote.
We hope the step-niece learns a lesson from her arrest and not mistreat her relatives again!
