“As I walked through the immigration counter, a red light started flashing, indicating [that] I was a wanted person.”

He was later taken to the KLIA police station and stayed there for two hours.

Namewee also mentioned that many netizens flocked to the police station to get a photo of him, making him “extremely awkward”. Some even asked when he would be releasing new songs.

“When they asked where could they watch the Babi movie, I jokingly replied with a ‘Welcome to Taiwan’.”

According to his Facebook post, he made a prior appointment with PDRM and would be going to the Bukit Aman headquarters after his seven-day quarantine order is completed.

Last Friday (March 12), Namewee posted a video titled “I’m returning home to surrender…Official Apology”, where he announced he would return to Malaysia and issued a sarcastic apology to all Malaysians for his past “misdeeds”.

“This is the eighth case filed against me since 2006,” he said.

“I should have fully cooperated with the police in their investigations. They have sacrificed a lot for the people [of Malaysia]. They’re a really hardworking lot.”

At the end of the video, he assured viewers that he was mentally and physically healthy and did not have any suicidal tendencies.

According to Malay Mail, Persatuan Seniman Malaysia (Seniman) lodged a police report against his film Babi last December for allegedly harbouring elements which tarnished Malaysia’s image and incited racial tensions.
