Doctors are among the most hardworking individuals, always prioritising human life above everything else.
Recently, a post has gone viral, featuring a heartfelt plea from a medical officer believed to be from a government hospital in Kedah.
The note highlights the desperate situation faced by the hospital staff, pointing out a severe shortage of doctors and the resulting exhaustion among the medical team.
This message was shared by a Facebook user, Syahid Said, and was posted yesterday (16 May). The post includes a photo of the note left on a whiteboard.
The message begins with an apology, acknowledging the inconvenience caused by the long waiting times. It emphasises the commitment of the doctors who, despite their exhaustion and sickness, continue to work tirelessly to serve the public.
Doctors resign & choose private sector
Furthermore, the note also highlights a concerning trend where some doctors have already resigned and moved to the private sector due to the overwhelming workload.
“Some have already resigned and moved to the private sector.” it said in the message.
The note ends with a heartfelt appeal for understanding from the public, recognising the doctors’ humanity and their vulnerability to fatigue and sickness.
“We wish to serve the public. However, we are also human and can get tired and sick. We hope you understand. We apologise.”
