In recent weeks, certain parts of Malaysia has been experiencing heavy rains, strong winds, and thunderstorms, leading to flash floods occurring as a result.
However, there are some who are making the best out of the terrible situation, such as this village where the kenduri (wedding feast) continued despite the location being submerged in floodwater.
Wedding feast in Kedah held despite floodwaters
In a 20-second TikTok clip shared by @lilyoodin three days ago, it showed several guests of a wedding being held at a village wading through waist-deep floodwater.
From the clip, it can also be seen that several houses were affected as well, with the floodwater reaching to the same height as the staircase.
Despite the messy and very, very wet environment, it didn’t seem to faze the guests at all, where they were seen taking food from underneath a canopy while half of their bodies were deep in murky floodwaters.
According to the caption, the kenduri was held at Kampung Paya in Kulim, Kedah. The OP also jokingly remarked that the wedding feast had to go on and that the food was tastier during a flood.
Netizens amused
The clip, which has since garnered a million views so far, tickled netizens and prompted them to leave humourous comments regarding the incident.
‘No need to think of what to wear. Just need to wear track pants and a t-shirt.’
‘Ahhh…flood no. 2, food no. 1.’
‘At least it will be easier for them to wash their plates after eating.’
