There’s always news about people with a strange habit of stealing underwear. Today’s news is just another example of this weird behaviour.
Yesterday (May 15), a viral video captured a man in the act of stealing women’s underwear hanging from a clothesline outside a house at Penang.
Caught red-handed stealing underwear
Shared by user X, @update11111, the one-minute-long footage shows a man wearing a blue helmet parked his motorcycle outside the house and cautiously surveyed his surroundings before committing the crime.
Following that, he climbed the gate and reached for the hanger with underwears from the house’s clothesline. After successfully stealing, he quickly fled with his motorcycle.
According to Superintendent Kamarul Rizal Jenal, the Southwest district police chief, they have confirmed receiving a report from a local woman regarding this incident that occurred on Sunday (May 12) in Penang.
In the media statement, he mentioned that the woman discovered that her clothes hanging on the clothesline in front of her house were missing.
“The complainant then proceeded to check the closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage. In the footage, an unidentified man was seen taking the complainant’s clothes from the clothesline and leaving the scene on a motorcycle,” he explained.
The case is currently under investigation
This case is now being investigated under Section 379 of the Penal Code.
Furthermore, the police seek the cooperation of the public who may have information regarding this case to come forward and provide information by contacting the nearest police station.
