While it’s common knowledge that one needs to pay for services rendered, some look to flex or show off their titles and background in order to skimp on making payment.
A sign at an undisclosed car wash centre is making rounds on the Internet over its blunt message to those who try avoid payment by saying the oft-quoted phrase: “Do you know who I am?”
‘Tan Sri or gangster, all must pay!’
The sign was shared in a Reddit post on Apr 5, where the user said that he spotted the sign at a car wash centre.
However, its location wasn’t disclosed in the post.

According to the sign displayed in both Malay and Mandarin, it reads: “Beginning 2025, it doesn’t matter whether you are a Tan Sri, Datuk Seri, Datuk, a cop, a gangster, a best friend, or the tauke’s (business owner) brother…pay up now! Thank you.”
The sign also cheekily stated that aside from God, the car wash centre only believes in accepting cash payment.
Amusement
Although netizens couldn’t help but laugh over the sign’s tone and bluntness, they praised the car wash centre for being firm towards miserly customers.
‘Honestly based. Business is business, pay up and no drama.’

‘Guess the owner already had enough with so-called VIP people that refuse to pay. We don’t care about your VIP status, just give the money if you’re VIP enough.’
