When we think of vacationing in Malaysia, Cameron Highlands often tops the list. Known for its cool weather and scenic beauty, it’s a favourite getaway for many.
But here’s some disappointing news—one of the viral tourist spots, Cameron Santorini, has been demolished yesterday (August 5).

The Cameron Highlands District Council (MDCH) made the announcement on their official Facebook page.
They explained that the enforcement action was taken because Cameron Santorini was constructed illegally.
The operation, which took place from 9.00am to 11.30am, was led by the President of MDCH, Tuan Azmil Hadid bin Maznan.

This operation also involved various district departments and agencies, including the Cameron Highlands District and Land Office (PDTCH), the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), the Pahang State Enforcement Unit (UPNP), the Cameron Highlands District Public Works Department (JKR), and Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB).

According to the post, this demolition was carried out under Section 70(1) of the Street, Drainage, and Building Act 1974 (Act 133) for Construction Without Approval.
This enforcement action serves as a reminder to all developers to adhere strictly to the regulations and procedures in place.
