SINGAPORE – A man’s bi-weekly prayer routine was met by an unexpected disturbance when his neighbour stepped out of the corridor and clanged a gong non-stop.
The man, Livanesh Ramu, posted a video of the event on Facebook yesterday (June 9).
During the 19-second clip, Livanesh was ringing a prayer bell and performing religious rites at his doorstep.
Though he was perplexed by her behaviour, Livanesh remained calm and continued his prayers.
However, the woman persisted in annoying him by clanging the gong repeatedly. After around 16 seconds, she shot him a cold stare and went back into her house.
Livanesh stated that his family had lived in the house for more than two decades and never encountered such problems.
“Like many other Hindus, this has been a part of our family’s five-minute, twice a week prayer routine. Having lived in this home for more than 20 years, we never had any issues. I guess with COVID we have a new norm…”
The post has since garnered 1,3k reactions, 385k views, and an endless list of comments.
Some netizens were deeply bothered by the woman’s inconsiderate and bizarre behaviour.
Others tried injecting some humour into the post by suggesting that a gong and bell could be the perfect musical match.
