In a heartwarming turn of events, 25-year-old American singer Madison Beer extended a generous helping hand to a local nail artist in Singapore, covering her shop’s rent after learning about her financial struggles.
The unexpected act of kindness occurred while Beer was in Singapore for her concert on August 22.
Quick fix for her nail
According to a report by AsiaOne, Madison Beer had a nail emergency when she discovered a broken nail just before her performance.
She reached out to a local nail studio for a quick fix. During her visit, the nail artist, who is also the shop owner, shared her financial woes with Beer, revealing that she was struggling to pay the rent for her studio.
Moved by her story, Madison Beer decided to do more than just pay for her nail service.
Instead, she transferred RM11,692 (3500SGD), directly to the nail artist’s account to cover her rent for the month.
The nail artist, overwhelmed by the gesture, took to Instagram to share her story.
She posted a screenshot of the transfer on Instagram, writing, “It’s hard to believe she gave me the opportunity to do her nails and even paid my rent!”
Partner quit upon scaling up
She explained that she and her business partner had recently made the bold decision to move into a larger studio in hopes of expanding their business.
Unfortunately, her partner abandoned the venture, leaving her to bear all the rent and expenses alone.
“This put me in a financial bind because we planned to invest our personal finances into the business for the first six months to help it grow,” she wrote in her post.
“As a result, I lost over 20,000 SGD (about 67,000 MYR) trying to cover rent, electricity, wages, and other costs.” She added.
Received a message from Madison Beer
The nail artist recalled that she was stunned when she received a direct message from Madison Beer, requesting a gel nail service.
Being a fan of the singer, she was both thrilled and nervous about the visit.
“It felt like a dream come true! I was so nervous while doing her nails that my hands were shaking at first, but she was incredibly kind and genuine.”
During their conversation, the nail artist mentioned her financial difficulties, not expecting anything more than sympathy.
To her surprise, Madison Beer transferred 3,460 SGD (approximately 11,600 MYR) to her account, enough to cover the studio’s rent for the month.
