National men’s doubles badminton star Soh Wooi Yik has planned a surprise that’s sure to leave his dad, Soh Goon Chup, speechless—a brand-new Chery Tiggo 7 Pro SUV.
The 26-year-old, who bagged a bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics with his partner Aaron Chia, is using his prize to gift his father, who was also a national player.

“It’s my first time giving my father a car as a gift,” he said, clearly excited to show his appreciation.
“My family has always been there for me, and without their support, I wouldn’t have reached the Olympic stage.”
This surprise comes after Wooi Yik and Aaron were rewarded handsomely for their Olympic efforts.
