In a recent development, US Pizza Malaysia has responded on Instagram to the ongoing discussion about their brand’s name with a playful post.
The company, which had previously clarified that ‘US’ in their name stands for ‘kita’, meaning ‘us’ in Malay, not the United States, has now taken to social media with a light-hearted challenge.
“Y’all prefer a new name?”
Their latest Instagram post features a graphic that reads “US PIZZA → KITA PIZZA” with a caption suggesting a potential name change.
The post proposes that if it receives 10,000 likes and comments, they will change the name to ‘KITA PIZZA’.
For now, the post has over 4000 likes and 300 comments.
Suggestions for US Pizza Malaysia’s rebranding include adopting “MY Pizza” as a new name and revising the logo’s stars to better represent the Malaysian identity.

This move appears to be a nod to their earlier statement which aimed to emphasize the local ownership of the Prima Saujana outlet and to assert their Malaysian identity amidst a climate where local businesses are distancing themselves from international controversies.
