We Malaysians aren’t quite over the thrill of watching our athletes pour their heart and soul into medal-winning games.
The energy is still buzzing, and it’s evident on social media, where videos of emotional fans are flooding our feeds.
One particular TikTok video, though, has everyone in stitches because it’s just so relatable.
In the TikTok post shared by @unazr._, a woman is seen doing something we’ve all secretly done—sending her energy through the screen like the famous character from ‘Avatar’ to help Lee Zii Jia during his intense match.
Admit it, we’ve all been there, waving our hands or muttering encouragement, hoping our vibes somehow reach our favourite athletes.
But here’s the kicker. Just as she sent her energy shot to Lee Zii Jia, the TV screen froze. Yep, as if her power had really worked!
Even she was shocked when the TV suddenly paused, adding to the hilarity of the moment.
Speaking exclusively to WeirdKaya, the woman behind the viral video shared the story behind it.
“Honestly, I was hesitant to watch the badminton match because sometimes when I watch, Malaysia loses. HAHAHAHA. But it was the Olympics, so I decided to support Zii Jia,” she told us.
She further explained that during the first interval, he didn’t seem very energetic, so she thought about sending him some energy and also considered making content.
“When the TV froze, it was pure coincidence, but lucky me, it happened at just the right moment!” she said.
She went on to express how proud she is of Zii Jia and the entire Malaysian team. “Just want to say congrats to Zii Jia, Aaron, and Woo Yik for their wins, and of course, to all the athletes representing Malaysia.”
Netizens were amused
Some joked that their own screens must’ve paused because of her, while others laughed at how perfectly her energy blast coincided with the TV freeze.
“Oh, no wonder my TV got stuck.”
“It’s okay. The energy still reached LZJ… let the TV freeze.”
“She looked at us like we were the ones who made the TV freeze.”
