KUALA LUMPUR – An earthquake with 18km epicentre occurred southeast of Padang Sidempuan, Indonesia at 1:19pm today (August 11), reported the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MET).

According to MET, the earthquake measured 5.6 on the Richter scale and had a depth of 19km. added that said that MET also shared the details of the epicentre in their Facebook post.

Currently, there is no tsunami threat towards Malaysia despite mild tremors being felt at parts Selangor and Kuala Lumpur.
