KUALA TERENGGANU – Terengganu tourism sector, besides Pulau Perhentian, will resume operations for domestic visits starting 1st September.
Terengganu Tourism, Culture, and Digital Technologies Committee chairman, Ariffin Deraman, said the travel permission is only limited to locals who had completed two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.
“We are opening to travellers from nationwide starting 1st September. Thus, tourists can make their holiday bookings from now on.
“The permission covers accommodation in hotels, resorts, and homestays with full capacity throughout the state, including all the islands nearby, excluding Pulau Perhentian,” he said at the Terengganu State Tourism Department Office last night.
Earlier, after leading prayers in conjunction with the reopening of the Terengganu tourism sector, Kosmo online found him for a clarification.
Ariffin explained that recreational water activities such as snorkelling, scuba diving and outdoor swimming are allowed with a 60% capacity according to standard operating procedures (SOP).
However, he said the opening does not include ‘indoor’ locations such as Taman Tamadun Islam, museums, zoos, and theme parks.
