Turns out, not even the big boss could snag a comfy spot on his own airline.
Yesterday (Dec 5), Tony Fernandes baffled everyone after choosing Singapore Airlines over his own airline.
Why? Well, after attempting to secure a seat on three consecutive AirAsia flights, he found himself seatless.

Taking to his Instagram account, Tony shared that he couldn’t secure a vacant seat on the AirAsia flight, leading him to opt for Singapore Airlines instead.
“No seat on @flyairasia for three flights, so had to take @singaporeair. Hehehe,” he wrote in his post.

However, he didn’t spill the beans on where he was jetting off to with Singapore Airlines, though.
Tony spotted on board
Recognizing Tony’s presence on the flight, a fellow passenger, who presumably shared the same plane, commented under his post, noting that he sat two rows behind Tony.
He also mentioned it was nice to see him, even though they didn’t engage in any conversation.

A few netizens added a touch of humor in their comments, joking about how even the big boss of the business can’t get his own seat.
“You know you’re running a successful business when even the boss can’t get a seat!”

“Even the CEO himself couldn’t secure at least one seat.”

Also, sharing their thoughts, another netizen commented on how thoughtful Tony is for not playing the ‘corporate’ card to secure a seat
“It is so refreshing to see the CEO of a private airline respect his customers’ bookings and not find a ‘corporate’ method to shuffle some passengers around, instead opting to fly a different airline altogether. This is also why I love you.”

Is this a new marketing strategy?
Could Tony’s decision to fly with a different airline be the inception of a smart marketing strategy?
Oh well, not only us, even a netizen seems to be wondering the same question, deeming this as a genius marketing strategic campaign.
“Lol. I love his funny yet genius marketing strategic campaign.”
