KPKT Malaysia has taken a commendable initiative to recognize and encourage those in the private sector to keep their restroom game strong – they’ve introduced the ‘Toilet of the Year Award’.
KPKT Malaysia announces cleanest toilet award
Through their official Facebook page, KPKT Malaysia has left everyone amazed by recently launching the ‘Toilet of the Year’ (TOTYA) Awards for 2023.
This first-ever award ceremony was held on Monday (0ct 30), presided over by YB KM Nga Kor Ming, Minister of KPKT at Bukit Kiara, Malaysia.
The introduction of the TOTYA Awards is a pioneering initiative by KPKT, intended to appreciate private enterprises that have consistently provided public restrooms that meet the standards of cleanliness, attractiveness, and pleasant fragrance, also referred to as “BMW- Bersih, Menawan dan Wangi”.
Surprisingly, this year, TOTYA received a staggering 345 entries spanning diverse categories, ranging from hotels, shopping malls, and rest stops (R&R) to gas stations and restaurants.
Winner receives cash prize and trophy
The best part is that the winners in each category walked away with a hefty RM10,000 in cash, along with elegant trophies and certificates.
These are the winners for each category who have won the unique award for this year:
• Hotel Category: The George Penang, The Cruse Collection, Penang
• Restaurant Category: Cawan Mu FMB Sdn Bhd, Ipoh, Perak
• Shopping Center Category: Toppen Shopping Centre, Johor
• Petrol Station Category: Petron Senai Jaya, Senai, Johor
• Rest and Care (R&R) Category: R&R Elmina Arah Selatan, Guthrie Corridor Expressway, Selangor
During the inaugural ceremony, YB Tuan Nga Kor Ming presented the awards to all the respective winners.
This fresh awards concept isn’t just about acknowledging clean restrooms but also a cool and inventive way to give a thumbs-up to those who keep toilets top-notch.
